The Christmas Bird Count season is here, and the North Okanagan Naturalists Club is looking for some volunteers to take part in the 120th wildlife survey.

The Vernon bird count will be held on Dec 15 to divide the area for surveillance. If you want to join but don't have a lot of experience birding, that won't be a problem.

"Novice or experienced, the Christmas Bird Count is for everyone," says Rick Bonar, Vernon's bird count coordinator. "Novices will be paired with more experienced birders, so this is also a fun opportunity to learn."

If you want to take part in this nationwide survey, you can visit the North Okanagan Naturalists Club' Facebook page for more information, and you can call Rick Bonar to register at 587-598-5719.
